Croeso i Cymru!
The Old Rectory is a beautiful 18th Century country house occupying a wonderfully tranquil corner of the village and surrounded by peaceful gardens, lush farmland and imposing mountains. Flanked by greenery on all sides, the house enjoys expansive views over a wide (often sheep-filled!) meadow and overlooks the lazily meandering River Usk.
Set in one of the most picturesque areas of South Wales (between Abergavenny and Usk itself) the Old Rectory is on the very edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park and is surrounded by rolling hills, trickling streams and deeply forested valleys.
Secluded it may be, but we're only a few minutes drive from the bustling market town of Abergavenny (the self-proclaimed 'Gateway to Wales') and as such The Old Rectory is ideally situated for exploring the Black Mountains, the Wye Valley, Vale of Usk, Forest of Dean, or indeed anywhere in South Wales.
A substantial family house steeped in history and full of lovely period touches, in the Old Rectory we like to think we offer our guests a warm and welcoming home away from home with just a touch of distinction. Whether you are looking for somewhere to stay for just one night, a weekend break or an extended touring holiday of Wales, we look forward to welcoming you.
